Pu Opera Troupe of Xinjiang County has witnessed a 70-year ups and downs which creates brilliance several times in the history of Pu Opera.
The predecessor of Pu Opera Troupe of Xinjiang County was Jiangnan People’s Pu Opera Troupe which was founded in 1947 and led by Yang Hushan，also known as Yang Hushan Troupe. In 1948, it was renamed Pu Opera Troupe of Xinjiang County. In 1958, it was renamed Houma Pu Opera. In1961，it resumes a former name. The main actors are Yang Hushan, Duan Laba, Niu Ruiting, Dong Changbao, Ma Xiaorun, Chang Jiangtang, Liang Huatang and so on.
After the foundation of New China, Xiao Lanxiang, Xiao Yanqiu, Song Rongting and Zhu Quansheng's joining makes the troupe to present rich content, strong lineup, talent, and rich repertoire gratifying situation, into the south of Shanxi four strong regiment.
